Case Study: From Cited Content to Brand Mentions in AI-Generated Responses
Measuring Mirio Development’s Visibility in AI-Generated Responses:
Documented Results from 15 Non-Branded Queries: 27% Brand Coverage and 45% Domain Coverage

A website may appear as a source in an AI-generated response without the company’s name being mentioned.
In other cases, artificial intelligence may recommend a company without including a link to its website. We tracked these two forms of visibility separately in the Mirio Development assessment conducted on October 22, 2026.
We examined how often the company was mentioned, its position when it appeared, and the extent to which pages from MirioDev.ro were cited. These results do not equate to website visits, inquiries, or sales.
In the October 22, 2026 assessment, Mirio Development was mentioned in 27% of the responses analyzed, while the miriodev.ro domain was cited in 45% of them.
Of all mentions of the monitored brands, 70% were attributed to Mirio Development.
These percentages reflect only the queries and responses included in the assessment, not the market as a whole.

1. What Did We Examine?
We tracked two specific outcomes: whether Mirio Development is mentioned when AI systems respond to questions relevant to the company's services, and whether pages from MirioDev.ro are used as sources. The assessment presents brand mentions and domain citations separately.
Introductory information about these concepts is available in the Digital Authority and AI Visibility Guide.
Here, we present the results of a specific assessment, accompanied by screenshots from the original report.
The data relates to a defined set of queries and does not represent a general comparison of digital marketing agencies.
2. How Did We Conduct the Assessment?
On October 22, 2026, we analyzed AI-generated responses to 15 questions in Romanian, with Romania as the target market. The questions did not include the name Mirio Development or the MirioDev.ro website address.
The assessment covered ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot and was conducted using Otterly AI, an independent platform for monitoring visibility in AI-generated responses. According to information published by the platform, it is used by more than 40,000 marketing professionals worldwide. Report date: October 22, 2026.
The questions covered information-seeking and service provider selection scenarios relevant to the market being analyzed.
None included the brand name. The question set was specifically selected for this assessment and does not represent a statistically representative sample of searches conducted by all AI users. The table below presents editorial summaries of the questions, rather than their full transcripts.
The results reflect the findings recorded for the assessed configuration on October 22, 2026. On their own, they do not indicate changes over time. Tracking actual progress requires comparing assessments conducted under similar conditions at different intervals (30, 60, 90, and 180 days).
AI Visibility monitoring is available through several international platforms, each with its own coverage and calculation methods. Relevant examples, besides the tool used in this assessment, include Similarweb AI Brand Visibility, Profound, Peec AI, Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, and Ahrefs Brand Radar.
Each platform uses its own data collection and calculation methods. Results obtained from different tools are not directly comparable.
The definitions and limitations of the assessment are explained separately in the article How to Measure AI Visibility: Metrics, Benchmarks, and Interpreting Results.
3. What Do the Results Reveal About the Brand?

What Does the Result Indicate?
The percentage of AI-generated responses that mention Mirio Development, out of all responses analyzed.
The brand’s average position in responses where it appears; a value close to 1 indicates that the brand is mentioned near the beginning of the AI-generated response.
The proportion of Mirio Development mentions relative to the total mentions of all monitored brands, across all evaluated queries.
A score indicating how favorably AI-generated responses describe the brand, on a scale from -100 to +100. It is neither a percentage nor an opinion survey.
Mirio Development is mentioned in some of the responses analyzed, with an average position close to first place whenever the company’s name appears. A Brand Coverage of 27% does not mean the brand is recommended across all evaluated queries, nor does every mention represent a commercial recommendation.

Screenshot 2. Mirio Development’s entry in the external report: 27% Brand Coverage, an average Brand Position of 1.03, a Brand Sentiment score of +50, and 70% of all mentions of monitored brands. The original values have been preserved.
The results refer exclusively to the 15 monitored queries. They do not reflect the brand’s overall visibility across all AI-generated responses.
4. What Do the Results Show About the Content?
In addition to brand mentions, we tracked citations of pages from miriodev.ro. A brand can be mentioned without a link to its website, just as an article can be cited without its author or the company being explicitly named in the response.
Two queries recorded a Brand Coverage of 50% each. For another eight queries shown in the ranking, the percentage was 25%.

Screenshot 4. The two MirioDev.ro pages cited in the original report: the Digital Authority and AI Visibility Guide (10 citations) and the article “How to Get Cited by AI” (7 citations).
The Complete Guide to Digital Authority and AI Visibility was cited 10 times in the responses analyzed.
How to Get Cited by AI received 7 citations within the same dataset. These figures do not represent the total number of citations across the internet.
The two articles received a combined total of 17 reported citations. This does not represent 17 individual users or necessarily 17 distinct responses, as a single response may include multiple sources. The citation counts also do not indicate how many subsequent website visits these pages generated.

Screenshot 5. The miriodev.ro domain entry in the report on sources used by AI systems: 45% Domain Coverage. The figures are taken from the original report.
5. Interpretation: Citations, Recommendations, and Commercial Intent
Brand Coverage, at 27%, indicates the proportion of responses that mention Mirio Development. Domain Coverage, at 45%, indicates the proportion of responses that cite miriodev.ro. These metrics have different definitions.
The 18-percentage-point difference does not indicate how many responses cite the website without mentioning the company; determining this would require examining each response individually.
A brand mention, a URL citation, and an explicit recommendation of a service provider are not the same thing. The assessment identifies mentions and positioning, but does not, on its own, determine why an AI system selected a particular source or company.
For additional context on source citations, see the article What Does AI Look for Before Citing a Website?.
The results apply to the selected queries and do not represent all AI searches. They cannot be used to assess or compare the professional performance of other companies.
6. Why Can't We Automatically Translate Visibility into Sales?
A user may discover a company through an AI-generated response or a specialized industry channel or portal, then search for its name on Google and visit its website. The visit may be recorded as organic traffic, without an identifiable direct referral from the AI platform.
An analysis published by Similarweb in June 2026 found that, within the datasets and categories studied, users who were recommended a brand by AI were 2.5 times more likely to visit its website within the following seven days. The researchers also observed the important role of branded searches.
The original Similarweb study is available here: The Downstream Impact of AI Visibility. We will examine the challenges of attributing AI-influenced website visits and conversions separately in a dedicated article.
The report does not measure AI-attributed inquiries, signed contracts, or return on investment. It documents company mentions, positioning within the analyzed responses, and citations of the company's own website pages.
The commercial impact of visibility is addressed separately in Visibility and Inquiries in the AI Era.
Here, we focus exclusively on the results observed in the monitored responses regarding AI Visibility for Mirio Development and MirioDev.ro.
7. What Should Be Done Next?
The screenshots confirm that Mirio Development was mentioned and that certain MirioDev.ro pages were used as sources in the responses analyzed. They do not allow us to estimate how frequently these appearances occur across all AI searches or predict whether the company will be recommended in response to a future query.
To determine whether visibility increases or decreases over time, measurements must be compared using the same queries under similar conditions at different intervals.
Information about the cited pages can be verified directly in the published articles and the excerpts from the assessment report presented here.
For a company evaluating its digital investments, what matters is not only whether it appears in AI-generated responses, but also how accurate the information presented is and whether the company is correctly identified as a relevant service provider.
These results can be considered alongside the case study on appearances in Google AI Overviews.
An example of a practical project is also available in the Unilux case study on SEO, Digital Authority, and AI Trust.
These materials present different situations, allowing readers to examine the data from each case separately.
8. Conclusions
On October 22, 2026, Mirio Development was mentioned in 27% of the responses analyzed.
Two of its own pages were among the cited sources: the Digital Authority and AI Visibility Guide, with 10 citations, and the article “How to Get Cited by AI,” with 7 citations.
The miriodev.ro domain was cited in 45% of the responses, while Mirio Development accounted for 70% of all mentions of the monitored brands. These percentages apply exclusively to the 15 selected queries. They do not represent market shares or the performance of other agencies.
This case study provides separate evidence of company mentions and citations of its website pages, with clearly explained metrics and assessment limitations.
9. Transparency of Results: The Original Otterly AI Report
The credibility of a case study begins with the ability to verify the information presented.
That is why we are making the complete Mirio Development Brand Report, generated through the international Otterly AI platform on October 22, 2026, publicly available.
The document includes the original metrics, monitored queries, identified citations, and comparative results recorded during the assessment.
